FTP Accounts
What's FTP? What?s an FTP account? When will you need one?
FTP, which is an abbreviation for File Transfer Protocol, represents the most famous method for sending web content to a web hosting account. With an FTP software application that is pre-installed on your desktop PC or laptop, you can make a connection to your website hosting server and copy all of the web files that you want with a couple of clicks. You can do this via an intuitive interface and it is as easy as dragging & dropping the files in question. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is that you are able to create different accounts, each one with a different level of access to your online storage space, so if you’d like to provide a third party with access, for instance – a designer, they’ll be able to access only a specific directory and won’t be able to see the remaining web content or any other info, such as private details. Three things are mandatory to be able to set up an FTP connection – a hostname, which is normally a domain or an IP, a user name and a password.

FTP Accounts in Shared Hosting
Any of the shared hosting plans offered by us will enable you to create an unlimited number of FTP accounts, so you’ll be able to administer the content of your websites separately or to provide other people with access to any Internet site in your website hosting account. If you have a web design software program installed on your computer, you’ll be able to administer multiple sites simultaneously and to keep them up to date without effort. In case you give the login info to another individual to carry out a given task, you’ll be able to edit the password for that FTP account or to delete it altogether with just a few mouse clicks and avoid any chance of unsolicited access to your content in the future. For convenience’s sake, all FTP accounts that you create will be displayed in alphabetical order in the corresponding section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel.
- FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you host your Internet sites under a semi-dedicated server account, you will be able to create a different FTP account for each one of them, as we have not limited this functionality with any of our semi-dedicated server plans. You can accomplish this through the FTP section of our easy-to-navigate Hepsia hosting Control Panel where you can also see the complete list of all the accounts that you have set up, together with the folder that each one can connect to. If necessary, you will be able to edit the password for a certain account or to modify its access path with several clicks of the mouse. You can also delete an account with no effort if you do not require it anymore – for instance, if you’ve hired a web designer who’s done with the website and you do not want them to connect to your web files any longer. For your convenience, we’ve made different video tutorials, that will help you manage your FTP accounts without effort in case you have never used a website hosting package before.- FTP Accounts in VPS Servers
The VPS server plans that we offer will permit you to set up an unlimited number of FTP accounts to administer the content of your websites. This is valid regardless of which VPS plan you order and which Control Panel you select during the signup process – DirectAdmin, cPanel or Hepsia. In all cases, you’ll obtain FTP access to the virtual machine without the need to install any software, as an FTP server is an essential part of the software bundle that comes with the VPS plans by default. You can set up one FTP account for each domain or sub-domain that you own or even several accounts for one single directory – in case you want different persons to be able to connect to the web content in it using their very own login details. With any of the offered Control Panels, creating, removing or modifying an FTP account will take no more than a few mouse clicks via an easy-to-use graphical interface. - FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers
