.NAME Domain Name Registrations
Established in 2001, the .NAME universal extension is the single TLD intended for personal websites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other titles people are popular by. At the beginning, only third-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to order john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken 3rd-level domain names remained functional.
Through our company, you can buy your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to change the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registration service provider and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. There are no special terms on who can buy a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the idea behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
